The women's fashions changed drastically in the 1920's, called the "roaring 20's". Colorful fabrics, accessorized outfits, the silhouettes, and new hemlines contributed to the changes that occurred. During the day, bright pastels were worn and at nighttime, rainbow colors with patterns such as floral were most common. Hats, shoes, stockings, and jewlery started to come together to create the unique outfits that were popular back then. The silhouettes were shapeless and straight, accompanied with tight hats and hairstyles. The hemlines were one the most extravagant changes and they altered several times with the 20's. At first they were normally calf length and then they gradually raised it up to the knee, they stayed at that length until the stock market crash of 1929.
